I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time world boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
