It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the chance.

In the end, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her bow and seven global championships have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

If this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Certain people claim the argument supporting final game tension. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was out Australia needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has only strengthened - this victory succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they left last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is anticipated as her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
